Supernatural Podcast: "Phantom Traveler"
Poor Mia! She's already afraid of flying, and now we've subjected her to the airborne exorcism of "Phantom Traveler."
We like seeing the brothers' dynamic change this week -- we saw Dean's vulnerable side and watched Sam take control and calm him down. But there's so much more to discuss: the many types of demons (Mia and I are still learning), the trials and tribulations of getting holy water in your carry-on, and our take on the guys sporting suits for the first time. Plus, we're wondering what the elusive John Winchester is up to...
Listen to our Supernatural podcast for "Phantom Traveler" and let us know what you think in the comments!

Hey guys! I'm rewatching season 1 with you 'cos I seriously can't remember much about the first episodes (it's been 3 years, right). But I did remember this was one of my favourite episodes. I love everything about flying (I'm a flight attendant), I even like to watch Aircrash Investigations and demons on airplanes:)
I first saw Jensen act in Dark Angel back in 2001 and I LOVED him. His character Alec was fabulous (and he had such a gr8 chemistry with Jessica Alba!) and a bit like Dean - I guess Jensen put a little bit of himself in both of them:) After they cancelled Dark Angel I was really really really sad and when Supernatural came out I was so glad to watch Jensen again, especially because Dean reminds me of Alec and sometimes I feel like Dark Angel is back (minus one dark angel-jessica:) So, Jensen is the reason I love this show so much. I would do almost anything to get a few more episodes of Dark Angel (especially because of the Alec/Max relationship - they argue so much, just like Dean/Sam:), but since that won't happen, I'm really happy we at least have Dean:)

Nina we should clarify which shower scene. ;)
There's an adorable steam-shower scene that can't be missed. I still laugh whenever I think about it.

I'm very much enjoying your Season 1 Supernatural podcasts. I am currently rewatching season 1, and am very excited for you to get to some of the episodes: "Oooo, what would Mia think of THIS?!" and "I can't wait for the girls to comment on THAT!". I also wanted to put my two-cents worth in on skipping episodes. I don't know if you're still planning on skipping "Bugs" and "Route 666", but I am hoping you won't. I deliberately skipped "Bugs" and "Bloody Mary" during the first season. "Bugs" because of, well, BUGS! and "Bloody Mary" because we played that as kids and it still creeped me the hell out. I didn't watch either of them until I bought the DVD set. After watching "Bloody Mary", suddenly something that had been referenced throughout the rest of the entire season made sense, because this was the first time we learned of it (no spoilers for the newbies!!). I had always been wondering "Did we KNOW that?". Well, everyone else did, but scaredy-cat me didn't have a clue. And "Bugs" is one of the first times the boys actually talk about childhood events that shaped their perceptions of John and their family life. It's actually stated how and why Sam sees things so differently than Dean. Really not a moment to miss. Although, Mia, I will take pity and tell you to SKIP THE SHOWER SCENE. I still fast-forward through it every time. Keep up the wonderful work, ladies, you've become a highlight of my week.

Hey, ladies! Great podcast as usual!
I just love this episode. although I was already hooked to the show after Dead in the Water, it was this episode that totally turned me into a Dean girl.
Looking forward for the bloody Mary podcast. One of my favorite episodes in Season 1.
Keep up the good work! :)

Another fun and lively podcast. You guys are hilarious.
I absolutely adored this episode. Sarah I totally agree about the loving camera pan along Dean's sleeping form. It was nice to get boxer/brief question answered so early on in the series. ;-)
There were so many great scenes between the brothers. I think my favorite though, is how proud Dean is of his homemade EMF meter. When Sam made fun of it, Dean's cute little hurt face was probably the moment when I became a total and complete Dean Girl. LOL! Jensen really has the most expressive face ever.
Thanks again.

Great Podcast! I enjoyed listening to poor Mia's terrified voice... is that mean?
I agree... I prefer spirits to Demons... Demons are just so darned tricky and nasty.
However I find demon's much mroe entertaining... they are always so sarcastic!
Boys in suits? Thunbs up from me!!!

I've been enjoying your podcasts!
I was a fan of the show from the start. However, Phantom Traveler is probably the one that hooked me. Like Mia, I'm afraid of flying, so this one creeped me out more than the others. I think that's why it ended up one of my favorites from season one.
I was amused by your comments about how young Jared looks. Whenever I watch the earlier episodes of this show, I'm amazed at how much Jared changed between the pilot and the second season.
And Jensen rocked in Dark Angel. If you haven't watched that one, I recommend it.
Great job on the podcast.

I loved listening to the podcast - you guys always make me laugh. (Re the checked baggage charges ... I'm beginning to get the feeling that one day it may get to the point where if you want air to actually flow into your emergency oxygen mask in case they do drop down during flight, well ... that'll cost extra too!!)
It's always great when Dean shows some vulnerability or otherwise opens himself up emotionally .. Jensen does all that so well (very nuanced performances).
And whenever we get to see other aspects of Sam's character (as well as the times the brothers are having "moments" together) - well, Jared plays those moments wonderfully.
They are both so good and really seem to bring out great performances in each other. And talk about their chemistry together! (They did such a great job casting these guys in Supernatural ... in lesser actor's hands I'm sure the show would have been off the air long ago)
Is it obvious that I am a fan of the show and the actors? :-)
