One Tree Hill: SOB!

So this week on One Tree Hill, Brooke and Juilan... ok, um, Mouth and Lauren... well, Victoria and Alex... oh, who are we kidding. MAMA JAMES DIED! SOB!

Seriously, there was a certain amount of open weeping here at CW Source Central, and we're not to proud to admit it. Even the dark, cynical heartless members of our fiendish cabal couldn't help but sniffle when Haley freaked out over the soup, and there was outright blubbering when Jamie brought the book that Haley always reads to make him feel better to Mama James' sickbed. And when Taylor finally showed up and had that heart-to-heart with her dying mom? Oof! We nearly drowned the cat with all the tears.

All of which, again, makes it difficult to focus on anything else that happened in this episode. But we have to admit, we're thrilled that we actually got some movement in the Brooke/Julian storyline. Actually, we're thrilled we got some violence in the Brooke/Julian storyline, but that could be our bitter, cynical side trying to suppress all the warm-squishy feelings we had about Mama James.

As predicted, Brooke seeing Alex in Julian's bed was all a big misunderstanding, and Julian wasn't the phantom showerer. For once, we don't think Brooke overreacted -- there are only so many ways to interpret naked girl in bed -- but we do wish she'd talked to Julian -- or even Alex -- about it instead of going into a passive-aggressive (then aggressive-aggressive) tizzy. Still, when Julian snotted that Brooke still didn't trust him, we wanted to fling something at him. NAKED GIRL. IN YOUR BED. What was Brooke SUPPOSED to think?

Still, their make-up scene was quite sweet, and we're happy for them. Just... get over the drama, will you? Please?

We could have used MORE drama from Victoria, who confined herself to slapping Boy Alex instead of dismembering his body and shipping him to several different destinations. Come on, Victoria -- we expect more from you! He slept with skank Alex, and he doesn't get to just apologize, no matter how long he camps out on the sidewalk. Blech!

It looks like we'll get plenty of drama with another couple of storylines: Clay's Dead Wife Doppelgänger looks to be turning into a Dead Wife Doppelgänger/Stalker. We KNEW things would go horribly wrong when he told Quinn that he loved her and "nothing's ever going to change that." Dude, haven't you watched this show? Don't tempt fate like that!

And then there's Mouth and Lauren. We were thrilled when Lauren revealed that she'd turned Mouth down -- it's about time that a girl who is out of his league said no. But no, it was not to be -- Lauren confessed that she didn't want Mouth to be her rebound date, but now, she's ready to get to it. Of course, that's the cue for Skills to walk in... so we expect plenty of fireworks when the show comes back in April. (APRIL? HARRUMPH!)

I've Been Watching One Tree Hill Religiously Since Season 1. It's An Amazing Show. And Dosen't Deserved To Be Cancelled. It Has An Amazing Storyine, And Many Things Have Been Left Unresolved. Such As, In April 26th's Episode, Haley Was Holding A Pregnancy Test. What If She Is Pregnant? Are They Just Gonna Leave It Like That? Not Tell The Full Story? That Would Just Be Dumb. And I Think That Quinn And Clay Can Take Their Relasonship Father. Plus, Momma James Just Died. It Needs To Show Them {Haley,Nathan,Jamie,Quinn,.Taylor} Trying To Get Over It. One Tree Hill NEEDS TO COME BACK FOR AN 8th SEASON!!!!!!!!!

Please do not cancel OTH so rapidly please provide us with a proper finale!!!

PLEASE BRING OTH BACK FOR A SEASON 8!!!

Please don't cancel OTH.
We're not ready to loose it yet.
That's the kind of show that truly make a difference.

Please bring OTH back! We deserve a proper series finale and having a season 8 to wrap things up is the best way to have it! OTH Season 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE don't cancel OTH! This is the best show ever!!!

I'm from the Netherlands, but I also watch One Tree Hill. My English isn't very good, but I'll try.
I really like OTH, I've season 1 untill 6 on DVD. I like the love stories OTH tells, they are the best!!! (Leyton, Naley & Clinn are the best couples on TV EVER! Brulian is also a good couple).
I will follow OTH if there comes a season 8. I really hope there will be one. It's a great series. And if they want to stop it, they have to make the best series finale ever! Lucas, Peyton & Sawyer need to come back for it. Actually they had to come back for the funeral, but that unfortunately didn't happen.
OTH HAS TO STAY ON TV! Though Leyton & Sawyer left, I still really like the show! And if they want to stop it, they need to make at least a halve season to give the Series the greatest ending ever!

My friends & I recently went to Wilmington to see some of the filming locations. We also met Robert Buckley (Clay), Cullen Moss (Junk), Jackson Brundage (Jamie), Vaughn Wilson (Fergie), Mitch Ryan (Alexander), and Shantel VanSanten (Quinn). And I have to say, they are some of the nicest people I have ever met!! You could tell that these people love what they do & it would be terrible to take this from them! I was obsessed with this show before we went but no I'm even more obsessed! The only thing that bothers me about it this season is that in the earlier seaons Haley had 3 sisters (Tayler, Quinn & Vivian) & she had 2 brothers. I think they shouldve atleast mentioned them.
My friends& I have discussed many possible story lines for an eighth season. I have to tell you, it would be an amazing season. There are many people at my high school that are as in love with th show as I am, even some teachers. If One Tree Hill is canceled, I will cry for days, because it is no longer a TV show for us, its a lifestyle. So, my final plee: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP ONE TREE HILL!!!!!!!!

This show has been my most favorite show of all time. Literally ALL of the characters, past and present, are GREAT actors/actresses and so believable. The plots are all amazing and the storylines are relatable! I've never loved a show so much that I bought all seasons and wanted to download some of the songs I've heard on here. Please keep this show....we all love it!

I have been a fan of OTH since season 1. I now watch it during the day on soapnet. It takes a true fan to be that cevoted. To get upset or mad at shows that they have seen over and over again. But that is what I do. When Mondays roll around my kids know that they better stay in bed because not only is * pm bedtime but it is time for mommy's show. Then the popcorn goes in and the channal doesn't change until the previews for the next show is oner !!! So CW please here our pleees to keep OTH for season 8 and many moe seasons afterwards. OTH helps us realize that the characters go throught the same drama as us regulars do. So PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE keep OTH !!!!

Thank you,
Maranda Smith

APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throughout middle school and high school, I was a loyal viewer to several shows on the WB (Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, One Tree Hill, etc). Then in college there was network merge, and the CW was created. For the first year, everything was fine. GG, 7th Heaven, and OTH remained. However, after the ending of GG/7th Heaven, something changed with this network. In a society where young impressionable girls are bombarded with a desire to be young/rich/famous, the direction the CW has taken feeds right into that. I mean looking at the summaries of these new pilots in addition to existing shows like 90210, Gossip Girl, Melrose Place, etc is sickening. All of them portraying the idea that you have to be beautiful/rich/stuck up to fit in. The ONLY show that still has substance left on this network is One Tree Hill and it would be a terrible move to let this show go. Please renew One Tree Hill for a season 8 and GET RID OF at least half of these other "snobby" shows. For a network that targets young women, please set a better example.

RENEW ONE TREE HILL!!!!

To Whom It May Concern,

Hello, you don’t know me but my name is Amanda Parker. I am a 27 year old single mother. I come from a typical low income American family; single mother working two jobs to make ends meet, alcoholic father who would rather be in the bar than at home with his family, and two older brothers who always viewed me as a pest of a little sister.

Even though I had very few friends I would love the times at school because I knew that I could drown out the echoes of disappointment with the carelessness of adolescence. Times at home were hard and I know this sounds corny, but the main thing that helped me was Saturday mornings when Saved by the Bell came on and I was able to leave my world behind. I was able to enter their world, comprised by their shenanigans, their loves, their failures, and I knew that if I could make it through then it would be ok.

The show gave me hope that one day it could get better for me. So I held on to that feeling of HOPE day after day. You know how some people cut out cars or houses and put them on their wish list, mine was to just be accepted, loved and acknowledged but you can’t cut that out of a magazine so I used a television show. That one show, for the slightest of thirty minutes that it was on, taught me how to become a better person. You should know, if you don’t already, that One Tree Hill is that for many lost souls wondering who they are meant to be.

For the last 7 Seasons I have been watching One Tree Hill religiously with my mother (she is now my best friend), my brother, my aunt, my cousin and another aunt who is no longer with us, but we still feel her presence every Monday night when we pop popcorn and loose ourselves for just an hour that we retreat to Tree Hill. This show, the show that you are in the process of canceling, has the ability to bridge gaps and unify people that never knew each other existed as well as help others who share blood reconnect with those whom they have lost somewhere along the way. Please don’t let this opportunity slip through your fingers.

My family is still in the process of healing, and I am sure a few others could use a little bit of that healing as well. Let One Tree Hill speak its last breath in Season 8. There are still more stories to tell, dances to be danced, slaps to be made, dreams to be remembered, tears to be cried, and laughs to be heard. Since “There is only one Tree Hill”, let us enjoy the ride just a little longer. If you let this be I am certain that voices will rise from the depths of us all. We know that “every song has a coda” …. We know that one day we will have to say goodbye to the residents of Tree Hill, but let’s not let that day be today.

Signed One Tree Hill Fan,
Amanda Parker

BRING ONE TREE HILL BACK FOR A SEASON 8
WE DESERVE IT!

Such an amazing episode! CW, if you're listening, this show DESERVES an 8th and final season!! The show needs time to wrap everything up, and as such an established show, the cast, crew, and fans deserve it!!!

I really hope you renew this show for an 8th season. This show has really helped get me through some difficult times these past few years. Hold onto this show CW, please!!!!

These episodes are SO good! One Tree HIll NEEDS to be kept for another season!!

Hi!

I just wanted to say that I really hope you keep One Tree Hill on the air for a season 8. As silly as it may sound this show has really helped me through some difficult times over the past several years and I really don’t want to let it go just yet. One Tree Hill has such a strong fan base, which is evident through the outpouring support right now through fan sites and a petition with over 15,000+ signatures in support of a season 8. I hope you will take this into consideration when making your decision. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Kathryn

loved everything about this episode. wonderful writing and wonderful acting.

please cw give us one more season.

as for the whole lucas thing....chad is not coming back, he doesnt want to come back. he left, because he wanted to leave. so stop passing out blame elsewhere and blame him.

It was great episode and the season is just getting better. I agree that we need more scenes with the core 3 + Julian. I hope there will be 8 season (or half) so we could get the ending we deserve - it's a show that stayed around for 7 season and has a huge fan base that follow the show for 7 years and through a lot of things - so we and the show deserve a proper ending.

Lucas and Peyton should have been at Lydia James' funeral. Peyton should have been there for Haley, since she's the one who knew what she was going through. Mark and the CW should have at least brought her back, and maybe even Sawyer, and made some excuse for why Lucas couldn't be there; a book tour or a meeting. There's no need for an eighth season unless Mark can't figure out how to wrap everything up in these last four episodes. Brooke and Julian should get married and I always thought that Mouth and Millie would get married too. Alex should end up with Owen and that's it. The last episode should maybe jump ahead a little. If everything's not wrapped up, a 13-episode season is sufficient. I was thrilled that they gave it a seventh season, but they're beating a dead horse now. Regardless, they need to bring back Lucas, Peyton, and Sawyer. for the last episode. Oh, and Clay and Quinn should get engaged too. I like One Tree Hill more than Life Unexpected. The only thing that Life Unexpected has going for it is Kate and Baze and they don't show them nearly enough.

please save one tree hill it gets me through rough times!

To Whom This May Concern,

I saw today where Dawn mentioned that Life Unexpected is likely to get a second season. However, when looking at the poll that asked fans to choose between OTH and LUX, you will see that with over 1000 votes compared to LUX's 200 that fans CLEARLY want another season of OTH over LUX if it comes down to the two. BUT take a minute and read the comments. Many people said they watched BOTH shows, but choose OTH over LUX. These results mirror the petitions that were started last week. As of now, the One Tree Hill petition is drawing over 13,000 signatures, where LUX's is drawing in around 400. That being said I do think LUX is a good show. However I can speak for many OTH fans in saying that partly the only reason I watch LUX is it's on right after OTH. They attract similar audiences. So in my opinion it would be a poor decision to renew one and not the other. By canceling one of them you can almost guarantee drops in ratings for both. LUX is still a new show, renew is for a second season and OTH for an 8th (and final) season. Keep them on the same night and have a somewhat consistent schedule. This whole mid season starting and 8 week hiatus is ridiculous and poor planning.

Moving on, I have read that LUX draws in a totally new audience on Wednesday nights. I mean really, if you showed ANY show two nights a week of course it would draw in (new/repeat) viewers both nights. For example I like Biggest Loser and American Idol but I can't watch both at the same time. So please when making your decision know that the fans are screaming to keep One Tree Hill. In my opinion the CW needs more shows like One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected and less shows like Gossip Girl, 90210, MP, and ANTM. With a target audience being young adults who are at a very vulnerable stage, how is watching shows like that good for them? All they see is a false sense of reality; "beauty and money." The CW needs to go back to the WB days where the network flourished off of Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, One Tree Hill, and Dawson's Creek. Without doing this I feel this network's years are numbered.

My last point comes from a marketing standpoint. The amount of attention Gossip Girl gets in comparison to all of the other CW shows is ridiculous. With the way you all promote this show, its ratings should be through the roof. However, looking back at the ratings you will see that they have been LOWER than One Tree Hill's ALL season. I also, find it funny that One Tree Hill coincidentally was placed against the Olympics and Gossip Girl was conveniently placed after.

saddest ep everrr. i wish they did the brulian reunion before because i couldnt be happy because i was bawling. landslide was the best song ever i cant believe they milked momma james's death soo much. i didnt cry this hard even when more important characters died... i mean dying in the arms of her daughters with the whole family in the room WHILE watching a video montage of her life??? not fair. also isnt skills in jail? is he out already? and back?

Not everyone is screaming for another season! I would prefer this show not to be renewed without Lucas and Peyton brought back. I just don't seem to care about the new people they brought in, they don't pique my interest at all.

If anything, have a spin-off of Haley/Nathan with their kids...HINT HINT.

Where the hell was Lucas Scott??? He would not of missed this for ANYTHING!! He's known that family since he and Haley were little kids and I find that unexcusable that he would miss the funeral of a dear friend's mother!

I am so glad that Taylor was on and that the sisters made up (at least for now) before their mother passed away. I like Taylor, can she stay??? Toss Quinn out if need be.

Enough with the DEAD-WIFE look alike, please.

Please don't cancel this show. Last weeks episode was amazing. Fans are screaming for there to be a season 8 with over 12,000 signatures on a petition!!!

Nine days ago, a longtime One Tree Hill viewer started a petition in hopes of saving One Tree Hill from cancellation. His goal: 10,000 signatures. Since then, the petition has been posted throughout
the World Wide Web, including entertainment sites such as E! and news organizations such as Wilmington's very own WWAY & WECT, in hopes that the 10,000
signature goal would be reached before cancellation. I am proud to say
that, as of 12:30PM EST today, more than 10,000 signatures were
collected, with more still coming in.
The 10,000 represents a sliver of One Tree Hill's devoted audience. The show is watched by more than 2 million people every Monday evening and countless more through other channels. This has resulted in a
huge fan base worldwide. The show has touched the lives of many people,
young and old alike, and though there have been many changes during the
recent years, the fans have stayed true, keeping their trust in
Mark Schwahn and faithfully watching the show.
Fans continue to fall in
love with the show week after week after all these years. Some of the
most devoted fans even travel to Wilmington, bringing tourism revenue to a city they wouldn't otherwise know about if it weren't for One Tree
Hill. Their dedication has helped the cast and crew have stable jobs in
Wilmington during these tough economic times.
When rumors spread that One Tree Hill was in danger of cancellation, fans were devastated. With just four more episodes set to air this season and filming wrapping in the next weeks, fans worry about getting the series finale the show deserves. The fans understand that all shows must come to an end at some point but they would like a proper goodbye to the characters they have loved and followed for nearly seven years. Many fans are hoping for even just a 13-episode eighth season so storylines have some more time to be wrapped up.
Below is a link to the petition, where you can see for yourself the more than 10,000 signatures, along with declarations of love and support for One Tree Hill. This should indicate to you that the show is not "losing steam" and its fan base is not diminishing. In fact, through these signatures, the fans are saying just the opposite is true. Consider the petition as the fans way of asking Warner
Bros. and The CW to not cancel their favorite show.

That was the saddest thing I have ever watched. And I've watched a lot of things. One Tree Hill needs to stick with their crazy nanny and devil Dan plots because when they hit you with the honesty and sincerity of a plot like this, even people like me (who NEVER cry) are reduced to silent sobs as they try to hide it from their sleeping roommate. Not cool, Mark Schwahn. You aren't supposed to make me feel things.

So, Haley's mom died....
Lucas and Peyton did not come to the funeral, nor did Haley's other brothers and sisters, or the multiple past cast members who would've made an appearance.
I get that there is only so much that they can do with wrangling actors of One Tree Hill past, but i would prefer that they don't make them look like crappy friends by showing us a funeral that they didn't come to.

I was crying and choking up the whole episode. Afterward, I went to bed all sniffly and depressed, lol.

One more thing you guys didn't mention, which isn't a big deal considering Lydia and family just stole the show. And that one thing is that Max or whatever that boy actor's name is TAPED himself and Alex! This can't be good!

I've been thinking this for a while, and now, I just need to say it : what the hell happened to One Tree Hill?

I've had some time on my hands lately so I decided to watch old episodes of OTH (from season 1 to 4) and it hit me : that show is gone. It used to be about those high school kids trying to figure out who they were and who they wanted to become with the help of great music, or friends, or, last but not least, basketball. OTH completely revolved around basketball and now, we're lucky if we see 5 seconds of a game every ten episodes. And what about those indestructible friendships? Sure, all the characters didn't always get along but in the end they all made it and 4 years after the end of high school they were all still friends. Yet, Peyton and Lucas have been gone for 18 episodes now and they were mentioned like what, 3 times? We don't even know were they are. It's like they never even existed.

Looking back, I think that the 4th season finale would have been the best episode to end the show. They were all friends, they were together, everybody was happy and they had their whole life ahead of them.

But season 5 started and at the beginning, it was good. We had some Ravens action and most of the time, all of the characters were involved in each other's lives. It still was One Tree Hill. The 6th season finale would have been another great way to end the show, all of them being right where they were supposed to be.

But apparently it wasn't enough and they decided to come back for a seventh season without 2 central characters. Everybody may not be a Leyton fan but we all have to admit that both characters were a major part of the show right from the beginning. So to make us forget about them, they brought 3 complete strangers and in my opinion it started to get really bad. They expect us to care about Quinn's divorce or her love story with Clay when we don't even know her, they put Brooke in another love triangle when the girl clearly just needs a happy ending and it took them 18 episodes to straighten things up between her and Julian ! I mean, come on !!! But I think that the worst thing is that they don't even seem to be in each other's lives anymore. I mean Brooke is going through a major heartbreak situation and the only person she turns to is her mother (???!!!). Haley's mom is dying and Brooke is not there for her. And, I'm sorry, but isn't it a little sad that the most interesting moments this season where the ones when Lydia and her family were dealing with her imminent death ???

All in all, I guess I just wanted to say that I wouldn't be surprised if the show didn't get an 8th season. At some point, it doesn't matter how much you love a show, when it has run its course you just have to put an end to it. And it makes me really sad because, this show used to be so good and it could have end in such a good way, but now, whenever it ends it's just gonna leave me with a bitter taste, something it really didn't deserve.

(PS : I'm French and the French title of One Tree Hill is Les frères Scott i.e the Scott brothers. Ironic isn't it? A show about the lives of the Scott brothers with only one of the Scott brothers! I mean, seriously, they should have known right then and there that it couldn't work out !!!)
