Check out our new Facebook page...OR ELSE.

Since we follow a whole lot more entertainment than just The CW, we've put together Snark Syndicate; a Facebook page that runs tabs on the industry and directs readers to the best news and time-wastingest content. Like this re-edited video about George Costanza. Why did we post it? Because it's hilarious. We love it. You'll love it too.

We also cover items with a little more heft, like the Conan O'Brien vs. NBC saga, what's going on with your favorite Glee actors and what TV pilots to expect this fall. Basically, it's a one-stop-shop for some entertainment news, our Source content and some extra giggles.

As a special side-package we've also started a Twitter feed, Pop Connoisseur, as a speedier way to get the news out there.

Best of all, this is another chance us to interact with you and you to interact with each other. Comment on our posts, let us know what you like and don't like in entertainment, and start some conversations. We'd love to hear from you.

More ads for you online CW watchers

What do you mean I have to sit through more Axe ads???

Love watching your CW shows online because it's on your own terms (almost)? Well a few of those terms are about to be taken away.

Starting next season the CW is upping the ads in their programs broadcast online. According to the report from the Wall Street Journal, the shows will feature 20 30-second ads, twice as many as they feature now.

Why the change? Because their target young adult audience is watching more and more television online.

Moral of the story, kids: Go back to TV! Then we won't have to hear more about Charmin Ultra Plus or Now That's What I Call Music 4,958,940,386. If not for yourselves, then for your loving bloggers at the CW Source.

CW Fans: Defend the Hotness Honor of Your Fave Stars!

It's been a while since we've had a knock-down, drag-out fight to the death over the hottitude of our favorite CW stars. Fortunately*, the drought is over -- and you have two opportunities to vote for your preferred people in bracket competitions!

The fine folks at KWGN in Denver are hosting a Battle of the CW Hotties as we speak. Right now, the Women's bracket is up, but you can still vote in the Men's bracket as well. The second phase of the Men's competition launches Friday, and the second round of Women's matches goes up on Tuesday, February 18 -- so get voting!

Then there's an all networks battle to the death over at the South Florida Sun Sentinel, where CW stars are going up against the juggernauts from the other four broadcast networks. The Bad Boys division (which includes Chuck Bass, Dean Winchester and Damon Salvatore -- and Dean and Chuck are currently losing) is already off the front page, but you can still vote. Keep checking this page throughout the next month to support your fave stars!

* We know, we know -- there are those among you who sneer at such things, who protest that we should focus on the content of the shows and the nuances of the acting rather than the exterior facade of the people who bring our favorite characters to life. And we like to think we do that here... but that doesn't stop us from being able to celebrate the aesthetic pleasures these folks bring to bear. Are we shallow? Maybe. But we are having fun!

Mark Your Calendars: The CW Premiere Dates Are Here!

So many cliffhangers rounded out this past season: What is Dan and Serena's half brother up to? What -- or who -- did Annie hit? How the heck are Sam and Dean going to defeat Lucifer? Why did the-man-who-will-be-Super say "Clark Kent is dead?" And that's just the start of it! Well, now we know when we can expect answers: The CW has announced its fall premiere dates. Start counting the days now!

It all starts on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with the season premiere of 90210 and the series premiere of Melrose Place. Wednesday, Sept. 9 brings the two-hour season premiere of America's Next Top Model: Shorty Edition. Oh, the drama! We can't wait.

Winchesterites, you can breath again on Sept. 10. That's when Supernatural returns to the small screen, and when we start to figure out how (or if!) the boys can avert Armageddon. But before we get to them, we get introduced to Damon, Stefan and Elena as The Vampire Diaries makes its debut. Should be a spooky and satisfying night!

The Monday-night lineup returns on Sept. 14, with one slight change: One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are changing places. Now OTH gets the first spot, and GG rounds out the night. The Beautiful Life makes its debut on Wednesday, Sept. 16, after ANTM.

Finally, Smallville swoops back onto our screens on Friday, Sept. 25. Why the wait? Your guess is as good as ours.

Get the schedule in an easy-to-digest form after the break.

It's Sourcies Season, and We Need Your Help!

That's right, folks, it's time for the fabulous CW Sourcies! You know the drill: We pit scenes and moments from various shows against each other and let you vote to see what comes out on top! And we want your help!

We're compiling the categories for this year's competition, but it occurred to us that hey, why should we have all the fun? So we want your input: What categories do you want to see your fave shows compete in this year? Are you looking for perennial favorites, like best fight, best kiss, best villain? Or do you have something more out-there in mind?

So here's our challenge to you: Use the comments to tell us what categories you want to vote in this year. If you see something you think is brilliant, second that emotion. We'll pick the categories that you love, that tickle our fancy, and that will make the Sourcies better than ever this year. Get commenting! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Note: Wow! You guys rock! We've picked out categories for this year, so the comments are now closed. Now go nominate your favorites!

CW Fall Schedule Announced!

Vamps and models and Melrosites are flooding The CW's fall schedule -- and we can't wait! The network announced its 2009-2010 schedule today, and we had a few surprises. Yes, we knew about Melrose Place, but The Beautiful Life took us by surprise. A couple of shows we thought were a lock didn't end up on the schedule at all, and a few more shows we hoped would return have been dropped. But the biggest -- and most welcome -- surprise? All of the new shows on the sched look likely to rock!

The three new shows we can look forward to in the fall are Melrose Place, The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries. We got a chance to talk to cast members from all three new shows, and we'll have an in-depth look at the series later. For now, here's a quick look, plus our impressions:

Melrose Place is taking the post-90210 spot on Tuesday nights. You know the drill: A bunch of glamorous 20-somethings share their lives and loves in a faboo apartment complex off LA's storied Melrose Ave. In the original incarnation, the show started off almost a little slow, then embraced its soapy elements a season or two in. This version seems to intend to go over the top from the get-go -- and that has us salivating.
Our Take: We can't wait to see Katie Cassidy as an acid-tongued, bisexual publicist; Ashlee Simpson as a sweet, naive small-town girl who's willing to scheme to get what she wants; and Shaun Sipos as the troublemaking spawn of original Melrose resident Michael Mancini. Plus, Sydney is back from the dead -- and how are they going ot pull that off? We can't wait to find out!

Find out about The Beautiful Life and The Vampire Diaries after the jump!

CW New Season Podcast: The Shows We Can't Wait To See

Sarah, Mia and I can't handle the wait much longer for our shows to return -- so to help us get through the final week before all the premieres start, we're podcasting about The CW's new season!

The CW shows are back!

There's plenty to discuss. We dissect all the buzz about 90210, wonder how One Tree Hill and Supernatural will pick up after their huge season-ending cliffhangers, and discuss Smallville's many evil villains hoping to fill Lex's shoes. Plus, there's a transgendered contestant on America's Next Top Model, the Privileged and Stylista premieres, and new romantic possibilities on Gossip Girl. Which shows will be worth the hype (we hope 90210!), and which shows deserve more attention (The Game and Everybody Hates Chris, anyone?) or even just a timeslot (poor Reaper!)?

Listen to our CW new season podcast and let us know which shows you're most excited about in the comments!

CW Stars Up for Multiple Teen Choice Nominations

Eonline reports that Gossip Girl received a whopping 14 Teen Choice nominations, including Best Drama, Best Breakout Show, and Choice TV Actor/Actress.

It's true that GG is everywhere on the list of nominations. All three female leads (Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Taylor Momsen) are up for Best Breakout Female Star, and we were especially excited to see Ed Westwick's Chuck Bass nominated for Choice TV Villain along with Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum. But One Tree Hill also earned its fair share of nominations, including Choice TV Drama, Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush for Choice TV Actress and Chad Michael Murray for Choice TV Actor. Our complaint: where are James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Galeotti? They deserve some noms, too!

Other shows represented include America's Next Top Model (Cycle 10 winner Whitney is up for Choice TV Female Reality Star, Tyra is up for Choice TV Personality, and the show itself is in the running for Choice TV: Reality Beauty and Makeover), Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (for Reality Music Competition), and Smallville (Choice TV Show Action/Adventure, Choice TV Actor/Actress Action/Adventure for Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk). Even Beauty and The Geek made the list with a nomination for Choice TV: Reality Beauty & Makeover.

Notably absent from the list: Supernatural and Reaper. And what about Everybody Hates Chris, Aliens in America, Girlfriends, and The Game? We think these shows were seriously overlooked -- do you agree?

Let us know what you think of the nominations in the comments!

Now That We Have a Little Time To Breathe

We're going to head to Entertainment Weekly's red carpet event in a little bit but wanted to let you all know (for those of you who don't know) the casts of One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl are amazingly sweet. Hilarie Burton grabbed Jason C. for a hug as soon as she saw him. She looked gorgeous by the way, as did Bethany and Micaela. Antwon and Lee were even cuter in person than on screen!

We need to head out and grab a taxi, but stay tuned for more!

Friday and Sunday Nights on the CW

Friday nights The Game and Everybody Hates Chris will be back in full effect. Reaper has been picked up for another season and Aliens in America, unfortunately, has not been picked up. Smackdown has also left the building but Sunday nights will be filled with a lot of new original programming. Keep watching the CW and keep checking back for more info and updates right here at the CW Source.

CW Upfronts: Wednesday and Thursday Nights

It's a Ken Mok/Tyra Banks night with America's Next Top Model starting things off and Stylista rounding out the night. This should keep things interesting - Tyra has got a busy schedule these days!

We all know what Top Model is about, but Stylista is about to give us The Devil Wears Prada as a reality show. The contestants will be an assistant to the editor of Elle, Anne Stath. They'll have to get coffee, plan birthday parties for nieces, it's gonna get ugly up in here.

Smallville and Supernatural fans....

CW Upfronts: Let The Excitement Begin

They're starting the evening out with a great montage of this past season's shows and added in some clips from the new CW shows like the Beverly Hills 90210 spinoff and Surviving The Filthy Rich.

Monday night's lineup is going to continue with Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. I must say, the casts are all absolutely gorgeous. Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szhor are both wearing adorable short flowing dresses. Leighton Meester is wearing an amazing print dress. Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford are gorgeous even when dressed semi-casually.

CW Stars make TVGuide's Sexy List

TVGuide's Sexiest Stars issue is out, and some of our CW favorites won their categories. We approve!

The Winchester boys of Supernatural took the Sexiest Siblings category, and we'd expect nothing less. Erica Durance, Lois Lane on Smallville, won as Sexiest Sci-Fi Gal, and Gossip Girl's Blake Lively took Sexiest Pout. Congratulations to them all!

Of course, there were a few categories where we think CW stars were robbed. There's no way Mark Sloan should have taken the Sexiest Cad category from Gossip Girl's Chuck Bass. Chuck is the sort of bad boy who makes us swoon, and he can even pull of shark sweaters and bright orange trench coats? McSteamy has nothing on him!

We were also shocked that Tom Welling, Smallville's Clark Kent, didn't win the Sexiest Sci-Fi Guy award. Come on, he's Superman! Plus, he's got the eyes, the cheekbones, the chest, the.... excuse us, we need to sit down for a while.

Finally, we can't believe Ray Wise as the Devil on Reaper didn't win the Sexiest Bad-Ass category. We suggest Jack Bauer, who got the award, watch his back -- the Devil doesn't take defeat lightly!

What do you think of the results? Are you surprised by any of the CW winners? Let us know in the comments!

How Would You Fix The CW?

All of us here at CW Source Central have been poring over this article in the New York Times, which contemplates various ways to fix the network. The CW suffered a lot from the writer’s strike, and it hasn’t bounced back as well as we’d like. And while we don’t agree with everything the network does, it is the home of some of our favorite shows, so we’re all about wanting it to stick around.

The article brought up some great suggestions – and some we’re not as thrilled with. Here’s our take on some of the hot-button ideas:

Great!
“Keep taking risks on unique, quality shows.” We’d nominate Supernatural and Gossip Girl as just two of the shows that make the CW great. Keep these shows going – and put more money and promotional muscle behind them!
