The CW Fan of the Week: Cali Gal Talks Gilmore and More

The CW Fan of the Week
Name: Mishalene N.

Hometown: Inglewood, CA

Why do you love The CW? I watch the CW more than any other station! I watch the Monday night line-up from Everybody Hates Chris to The Game. On Tuesdays, I'm a Gilmore Girl. (Please get Lorelai and Luke back on track. Maybe they can start over with the dating thing and then he can propose to her). On Wednesdays it's all about One Tree Hill. I am faithful to America's Next Top Model (can't wait for the new season), and I've caught a few of the Geeks.

Tell us about your love for Gilmore. I love Gilmore Girls basically because of the relationship between Lorelai and Rory. I think they have the greatest relationship, and everyone else around them is like the branches of their tree. Although the braches may get bent, fall off or whatever, the tree still stands strong.

Who's your favorite character? I can't say. I love the entire cast. Sookie is wonderfully bubbly, then you have Luke, who I just adore; all of the cast is great and add to the willingness to DVR when I'm not at home.

The CW Fan of the Week's Plea: Watch The CW!

The CW Fan of the Week with OTH

Name: Amy P.

Hometown: Arlington, Texas

Why do you love The CW? I have been watching dramas on The WB since 1998, and now can say I am an even bigger fan of The CW. It is fresh and new, but still brings us the same dramas and other shows that we loved from The WB. I am more of a drama person.

In March, I was the fan reporter/blogger for the Sunkist OTH Friends With Benefit Tour in Dallas, Texas. It was such a blast, I got to meet some of the cast of One Tree Hill, including Mark Schwahn, Lee Norris, Sophia Bush, and Bevin Prince.

Honestly, I think the dramas on The CW are better quality than any other network. I just can't get enough of the fantastic writing and superb acting. I watch OTH, Supernatural, and Smallville. I was sad to see Runaway go. I would have loved to see the evolution of some of those characters.

Create your own CW show. I absolutely adore Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth on General Hospital) and would really want to see her in primetime television. Of course, this new show would have to be a drama, since that is the genre that I relate to the most.

The CW Fan of the Week: Supernatural is Super!

The CW Fan of the Week
The CW Fan of the Week: Paula A. from Miami, FL

Why she loves The CW: The CW is the network we all can look up to. You don't have the usual shows where everything is the same story and is the same kind of characters. Instead you have a variety of shows, from shows that make you laugh until you cry and others that scare you until you cry too, like my personal favorite, Supernatural. It does not only have cute guys, but it also has humor and mystery and scary creepy situations with actual, real legends. It is a good show.

You are Dawn Ostroff, president of The CW. What would you do? Wow, it would be an honor to be the president of The CW. I really think I would put more Supernatural in the week, of course. Otherwise, I would keep the network just how it is.

What are some other interests of yours besides TV? I love music. Music is the most important thing in my life. I've been singing since I remember, and I would really like to be a singer someday. I also love to swim and go out with my friends.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to go to New Zealand because I think it has the most beautiful landscapes that I have ever seen (on TV). I also would like to visit Japan because I love its culture. I think it is a very interesting country.

Any shout-outs to friends or family members? I would like to say hello to all my family: my mom, dad, brother, and my sister, Chilis (that is what we call her), and I would like to say hello to my best friend, Mafe. I love her. She is the coolest. I'd also like to say hello to Lauris and the Caros and, well, everybody!

The CW Fan of the Week: Making Time in Your Busy Schedule

CW Fan of the Week and Mark Schwahn

The CW Fan of the Week: Jamie F.

Why she loves The CW: I love The CW because it has something for everyone. The genres covered by the network reach out to different people, whether it be race, gender, class, age. I also think that the CW is the most outgoing of all the networks. It sets out and tries to interact with its viewers more so than other networks out there.

Fave show: Well, first and foremost would be One Tree Hill. I've watched that show since the very first episode and have followed all of the characters' journeys. I think that Mark Schwahn (pictured above, on the right) is an AMAZING writer and is a flippin' genius for creating it. I feel as thought the show encompasses a lot of the issues that teens are facing these days which makes it, to me, more real.

I've also just recently become a huge fan of Veronica Mars. I think that the show is really witty and very entertaining.

If she was in charge of The CW: I would promote The CW a little more. I would try to get them to advertise more. I would also have them advertise more of the shows, not the big ones. When I watch, I mostly see commercials for Smallville, 7th Heaven, and Supernatural. I want to try and get more commercials for the other shows on the network so we could raise the ratings.

I would also try and do more meet-and-greets. This past November, I was able to meet James Lafferty (WHEW!), Lee Norris and Mark Schwahn. It was amazing. I would want more fans to be able to experience the feeling of meeting people that they watch on TV. It makes it seem more real.

If she could meet anyone in the world: It would probably be the cast of OTH or VM.

In her spare time: Well, I'm in college right now - it takes up most of my time. But otherwise, I like to hang out with friends, whether it be climbing trees or playing in the leaves! I also play the violin, and I love to read, my favorite author being Nicholas Sparks.

P.S. I’m the one in the middle!

The CW Fan of the Week: Greetings from South America!

The CW Fan of the Week
The CW Fan of the Week: Michelle I.

Hometown: Sao Paulo, Brazil

Why do you love The CW? Because I can watch some videos on The CW site, and I can get some news about my favorite series, SMALLVILLE!! I really love The CW for producing this wonderful TV show.

Who is your favorite character on Smallville? I liked Lana, but now she is so boring. Now I like Clark Kent because he has beautiful feelings, and he suffers but keeps loving who he thinks deserves his love.

If you were the head of The CW, what would you do? This is a good question... The first task would be to challenge The CW to make more different series to reach many kinds of people.

What else do you like to do in your spare time? Well, like many young people nowadays, I like to watch funny shows and read.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Canada, because I would like to visit the Smallville and Supernatural sets.

The CW Fan of the Week: Homegirl's Got Some Great Ideas

The CW Fan of the Week
The CW Fan of the Week: Lisa S. of Florida

Why She Loves The CW: I love the CW because of the diversity. There are dramatic shows, funny shows, family shows, and so much more! The CW is the most diverse channel on network TV today. It has everything and anything a viewer can want. There isn't a show on the network that a viewer can't relate to, or a character. I tune in to it weekly because it offers me something wonderful to watch on a daily basis.

My favorite show to watch is Veronica Mars because of the incredible writing and the tremendous acting. I do not miss an episode of the show and am drawn in to it continually by the intriguing storylines. Rob Thomas truly is a genius!

So, Lisa, tell us more about yourself... I run my own online entertainment magazine called Starry Constellation Magazine. You can check it out at www.starrymag.com. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music and playing with my dogs, Starbucks and Ciela. I'm a huge movie fanatic. I also enjoy reading, swimming and video games.

The CW Fan of the Week: Supernatural Forever!

The CW Fan of the Week
The CW Fan of the Week: Megan M. from New Jersey

Why The CW? I love The CW because it has my ALL TIME FAVORITE SHOW EVER on it: Supernatural, which has the two HOTTEST guys on earth in it, not to mention they are the BEST actors on TV. Supernatural is also just an amazing show in general, with its storylines and family drama. Simply it is the BEST show ever, I LOVE IT, and it's on the best network ever. The CW also has other awesome shows on it that I love to watch, like Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill (more hot guys), Smallville, Reba and more.

Another reason is that The CW sets up events in malls where the fans get to meet the actors from its shows and get free T-shirts. We actually met Mouth (Lee Norris) from One Tree Hill, who is sooooo nice and cute. It was just so much fun.

If you were Dawn Ostroff, what would you do? I think Dawn Ostroff is doing an amazing job. Combining two networks to make a brand new one must have been a hard job, but she made it work. I guess the only thing is that I think some shows aren't advertised enough. I see commercials for Smallville all the time, but I barely see any for Supernatural. When I do they are usually small. Same goes for One Tree Hill and some other shows. So really that would be the only thing I would do. Other than that, everything she is doing is terrific.

The CW Fan of the Week: You're the Inspiration

The CW Fan of the Week
The CW Fan of the Week: Brad O. of Illinois

Why he loves The CW: "Most of the shows they have are the best. My favorite show from The CW is One Tree Hill, with the runner-up being Smallville. I try to watch The CW all I can to help boost its performance, considering it's the best network out there... At first I did not really watch much television - until these two shows came along. But the main reason I love The CW is because it got me thinking about my career. I want to become a television writer, and I'd love to make my own show one day, and I would hopefully like to pitch the idea to The CW. The CW is truly the only thing I look forward to after school on the weekdays."

If he was CW President Dawn Ostroff for a day: "I wouldn't really change anything different that she's doing. Everything is great, and it will just take a little more time to receive ratings like the other networks. The only other thing that I would do is promote the shows more. I barely see any promos and such for Smallville, One Tree Hill, and Supernatural (I don't watch Supernatural), but that's the only thing I'd do differently. One more suggestion: advertise for the new One Tree Hill coming up January 17th, because a bunch of people don't know when it's coming back and they don't know if it's the 17th or the 10th. That would really help. P.S. - I would keep OTH for a 5th season =D!"

If he was stranded on a desert island, what three things would he take with him? "My guitar, the other would be a TV to watch The CW! And the third thing would probably be a big jug of water haha."

His other interests: "Playing the guitar, working out, listening to music and hanging out with friends."
